Mission Codename Enchanted
Sweet, succulent cherry of a Pinot! Single vineyard magic at a price that will make you wish you bought more. Furthermore, this gem is brought to us by, err… Furthermore! Be warned, just the other day what we thought to be a TON of another single vineyard Sta. Rita Hills Pinot sold out FAST right before our amazed eyes, so as an even better deal, this too will disappear…
A ruby/purple cloak surrounds a bright deeper cherry red within. On the nose, abundant aromas of strawberry, currant, plum, flowers, and spice appear. The palate brings on sweet kirsch and cranberry flavors lifted by vanilla and earthiness. Dusty minerals and a gentle refreshing airiness expand effortlessly on the long finish. Courageously choose gamier meats, wilder mushrooms, and herbs to go with this unabashedly old school yet fruit laced Pinot Noir.
Here’s what the owners have to say about their storied vineyard; “Located just 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean, on the western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills, La Encantada is truly an enchanted vineyard. This land was hand-selected and the grapes planted by the legendary Richard Sanford, one of the pioneers of this highly acclaimed AVA, who was recently elected to the Vintner’s Hall of Fame. Richard founded both the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, and La Encantada Vineyard”
Last year we had shared the colossal news that renowned winemaker Ross Cobb (formerly of Williams Selyem and Flowers) joined the Furthermore team as consultant! We all know that as the word gets out, the scores will continue to rise, meanwhile these awesome exclusive deals will get scanter as the demand for their wines grows. As if a sign of things to come, at the San Francisco International Wine Competition in 2015, one of the world’s most respected of its kind, Furthermore received the coveted André Tchelistcheff Winemaker of the Year award. Such recognition, plus such value, thanks to 55% savings for the day dear Operatives, seize the opportunity while it lasts!
Here’s what the wine press has to say:
91 Points – Wine Enthusiast - ”Dark berries and concentrated black cherry meet with a floral lift, charred wood and earthy soil aromas on the nose of this single-vineyard expression. The palate is taut with grippy red-cherry and sagebrush flavors, washed in velvety texture and fresh acidity.”
