Mission Codename Dream Lucidly
Lucid dreams have been preoccupying sleep scientists and the curious-minded a lot lately, but the practice sure looks trying for most. So, we gave up for now as our Tasting Panel may have found a red that could replicate the experience! This stuff is THAT good Operatives. Barbera can be extraordinary and this one strikes all the right chords for sure. Fair warning though, stylistically this hedonistic beauty leans towards the natural side of the winemaking spectrum. It’s not funky or stinky to be clear, while it’s certainly alive and almost electrically eclectic with overtly loud, in-your-face fruitiness. We fell head over heels in love with it, and feel that you may too.
Oh my, oh my. Deep magenta with purple and midnight blue shades painting the sides of the glass. Bold, ripe tutti-frutti cherry, cranberry, plum, grape, and fruit punch jolly-ranchers, we swear they are in there! Plummy like a Merlot, brambly like a Zin, spicy like a Jalapeño and sweet like candy. There simply is no Barbera, scratch that, no red wine like it. And there is no end to the fruitiness, or so it seems until the bottle is all gone, so easily. If you have the patience to prep prior to drinking it, for a trippy match try with a PB&J sandwich with bacon, or chill it, preferably for sipping by the poolside.
Kevin Luther is fanatical about the vineyards he chooses to work with. They must be Organically, Biodynamically or Dry farmed, or he won’t even go near them. He, therefore, puts Mother Nature above all else in his winemaking and chooses to minimally intervene in expressing the bounty and beauty inherent in grapes. His wines are therefor as transparent and as honest as wine can be. To give back to nature and to nurture the future, for every bottle of Lucid sold, Luther donates to charities that support nature, animals, and children.
With that noble cause coupled with the generous 40% savings slipping this boutique red just under $20, every drop of this will count towards making the world a happier place to be!
