Mission Codename Agent Burgundy?
So precise, delicious, and promising is the 2012 Lattanzio Pinot Noir Umino Vineyard from the Sonoma Coast!
We were floored by this wine’s big-time Pinot Noir character. It’s a style of Pinot Noir that put the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast on the world vino map, featuring incredible aromatics, translucence, and a deceptively powerful flavor profile that tastes great now - but will age magnificently for a decade. Winemaker Justin Lattanzio hand-harvested a mere two tons of fruit from Umino for his 100 case production stunner. Pinot Noir made at this micro-scale is what Pinot Noir is all about. For anyone interested in comparison, one of the few other wineries to make an Umino Pinot Noir, Chasseur, sells their version for $60.
