Mission Codename Quite a mouthful!
We are very fortunate to have gotten our hands on today’s Geyser Peak Winery 2009 Block Collection Alexander Valley Walking Tree Vineyard Petite Sirah. Like its name, the wine itself is quite a mouthful!
Bold and rich on the palate and exuding layer after layer of dark fruit aromatics, this is a delicious wine with plenty of gusto. For all of its boldness, though, this wine really has great balance. Earthen components underpin the lively dark fruit and sweet spice components.
Enjoy this wine with something as rich and complex. A hearty stew or savory grilled meats would be an excellent choice.
This wine is drinking beautifully now, and it will only continue to improve for the next few years. Be sure to decant - or swirl the wine with vigor - and be rewarded with a more balanced and delicious drinking experience.
