Mission Codename Misty river
Summertime…… and the livin’s easy. Temperatures are rising and the white wine is flowing. Today’s wine is the perfect answer to summer nights on the patio or sipping on a porch swing.
This is a no-brainer offer. Under $20 for an absolutely gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc from Organic Vineyards in Mendocino County.
Calimist Wines out of Sebastopol began when three friends found inspiration, they wanted to share with the world that was born from the nature they were drinking in (literally drinking outside one summer evening overlooking the Sonoma Coast). They celebrate the coastal mountain farmlands and have created a brand steeped in classic Old-World tradition with a New World twist.
Amongst the three friends, they’ve got over half a century in the wine industry with some impressive names on the collective resume. Chris Condos has had stints at Pine Ridge and Vinum Cellars, made wine for Kathryn Kennedy and is the Owner/ Winemaker for Horse and Plow. Scott Zapotocky ran the vineyards for Chalone, J, Paul Hobbs, and Capra Vineyards. Impressive indeed!
What’s truly impressive, though, is the wine itself! Zesty and beautiful! Layered flavors of Meyer lemon, nectarine, and mandarin oranges with subtle tones of fresh herbs. Minerality, brilliant acid.
Honestly, this wine could be the house wine for your whole summer. A “case me” wine if I ever saw one!
Get on it!
