Mission Codename Somm thing to be said
Any DJs out there? Cause this is the best REMIX you spin for the warm days ahead to get a crowd going.
poof
That was our collective minds, blown to bits after the first sip.
Totally unique, off-the-meter delicious. A Bordeaux Blanc style, done with California flair. It will leave an imprint in your mind. Like the gnarly old vines in there, planted in 1942!
And money in your bank account - only $17 for this brilliance?!
Master Sommelier Willie Sherer made something special here. He’s an OG Master Somm and formerly worked at your agent’s favorite bygone restaurant in Yountville - Redd (miss those pork belly bao!). This was a reminder that we don’t drink enough Sauv Blanc/Semillon blends.
Half barrel, half steel fermented, and all good. A rush of stone fruit gushes forth. Grapefruit, white pear, and apricot line up in succession. A hint of ginger and honey fall in behind the fruit. Fantastic stony minerality too. Turns creamy on the finish, with serious texture, lifted by the zingy acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoy this all spring/summer - it makes a perfect pairing with so many dishes from Thai chicken meatballs to lemon ricotta pasta.
Seriously, get more than you think you should. We already raided a few cases for our own stashes. This is a seriously good “cellar protector” type bargain you’ll happily pull out again and again without thinking hard, given you jumped on it early and fast.
