Mission Codename Agent Pink
We’re not much for all those weird national days. Super bummed we missed some recent ones, including VCR day, upsy daisy day, and Heimlich maneuver day. BUT damned if we’re missing ROSE DAY!!!
We’ve had a string of hot days here in California, and you know what that means - time to bust out the slip n’ slide, fire up the grill, and pour a cold glass of Rosé. So imagine our delight when this treat from Spy Valley flashed on our radar! Seemed like a perfect match - BUT don’t think we’re gonna foist some plonk on you just for the sake of a neat theme. Thankfully it tasted good. REAL GOOD. Then we saw the price.
MAKE IT SO!
Spy Valley is a prominent winery in Marlborough New Zealand, deeply focused on sustainable practices. Their values center around promoting biodiversity, shunning the use of chemicals in the vineyard, and they’re serious about making great wine. This is a “true” rose, not one made from the leftover juice of a red wine (aka saignee). It’s made from single vineyard Pinot Noir fruit and it hits all the right notes - juicy and fleshy, but properly dry with ample flavors of strawberry, red currant, white peach, along with a hint of white pepper and a drop of rose petal. So perfectly quaffable while you dangle your feet in the pool, sun bathe in your backyard, before/during/after mowing the lawn, etc.
At our price, it’s a simple choice. We can’t click the mouse for you though!
90 Points – James Suckling
“A flinty, tangy rosé that has a neat array of pink fruit, florals and gently creamy notes with freshly picked strawberry and watermelon flavors. Drink now.”
