Mission Codename Cab-zen
Cabernet lovers listen up - today we have a BLOCKBUSTER wine, made by a rockstar winemaker, from one of the most prestigious vineyards in Napa Valley - at 55% off no less! Strap in and hold on tight because you’re in for a supercharged blast into another dimension.
When you buy fruit from Andy Beckstoffer, you agree to one thing - selling the wine you make for AT LEAST $125-150. No less. Often a lot more. So we won’t tell you how we hooked up a 55% discount on this primo Cabernet from his Missouri Hopper vineyard, which normally sells for $165…like the discovery of a fourth dimension, it’s just NOT supposed to happen.
This has ALL the right stuff, starting with one of Napa’s most prestigious vineyards. Missouri Hopper!! The famous site sits just north of Yountville, in the Oakville AVA and it powers some seriously high end (and \(\)), high scoring wines - Alpha Omega, Amici and Purlieu to name just a few.
Then there’s the winemaker - Kirk Venge!! How many 95-100 point wines has he made?? We lost count, but we know he’s a Cabernet wizard with a Midas touch and what he does with this wine is nothing short of magic. Like that endless silk handkerchief trick, he somehow extracts an Amazonian expanse of rich fruit and dense flavor from this bottle. Waves of warm plums, rich cassis, blackberry jam, sweet herbs, underbrush and tobacco - it’s all there in spades.
All the serious Cabernet hounds are already grabbing their share - don’t blink or you’ll miss it!
Here’s what the wine critics have to say:
95 Points - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Janzen Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Cabernet Sauvignon delivers gorgeous plums preserves, black currant cordial and blackberry pie scents with hints of pencil shavings, baking spices, dried mulberries and raisin cake. Very big, rich and full-bodied in the mouth, the palate is laden with fruit cake and dried berry flavors sparked by spicy accents and framed with soft, fine-grained tannins, finishing very long with a provocative mineral hint. Drink 2021-2042”
Wine Enthusiast 93 points
Made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grown in this Yountville-area site, this is red-fruit forward, full bodied and expansive in waves of flavor and complexity. Compressed tannins round out the structure and powerful grip
