Mission Codename Blue Star
Wine Intrigue Awards would be meaningless if MIRO wasn’t a part of it.
Miro + Rockpile + Petite = YES PLEASE!
Anything Miro is exceptional, we all know that by now, but his Reserves are pure magic. Big, burly, bold, beautiful, breathtaking. Like the view from rugged Rockpile, the authoritative peak it is overlooking Lake Sonoma. Pristine mountain air, the rockiest of soils, Pacific breezes, and wildlife galore. Do you have a show to stop? This’ll do the trick.
Opaque purple-colored with glass-coating glycerin, with bright ruby and dark navy shadows. An expressive bouquet of pepper, smoke, espresso roast, blackberry, blueberry, and licorice are only some of the multitude of aromatics. Full-bodied and voluptuous in mouthfeel, dominated by spicy blue & black fruits with nuances of cocoa powder and mineral. The exquisite finish worthy of the Reserve status is beautifully integrated with floral elements and fine tannin to linger for at least a minute plus. Go all out for pairing this gentle giant, with smoked meats, elaborate stews, even rich curries would work. It’s got the energy and sheer power to shine through.
Beyond the well-deserved Gold Medal which barely begins to do it justice, no mainstream press on this yet Operatives, and that is our golden opportunity to get you as much as we can before it joins the growing historic track record of many a sold-out Miro. His wine is appreciated by the true connoisseurs like namesake Miro the mythical painter’s art. If you own an original, you’re all set for glorious drinking many years to come. His basic 2016 Petite got 92 Wine Spectator points for crying out loud, so add at least 5 more points to this Reserve? We do. Dive right in.
