Mission Codename Midday too!
Wait a minute. Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? This is what synergy is all about, one plus one equals three. At least three. Take dry Muscat, the most aromatic of all wine grapes, and add to luscious, golden ripe Chardonnay, in equal amounts and voila, you get such a delightful white that it’s there for us midday through midnight. Forget Jamba Juice! This is our new smoothie. Folks at the villa who concocted this dangerously delicious beverage are wise indeed.
Golden rays of sunshine trapped in the glass with shimmering white gold highlights. Muscat is the first to leap out of the glass with exotic tropical fruits, citrus from the lush Chardonnay side to follow. Ripe peaches and nectarines, melons, pineapple, pear - this feels like a dry liquid fruit salad. Concludes long and crisp with a sudden urge to take a next sip, lost in a vicious cycle until the end of the bottle arrives sooner than expected. Bacon & prawn kabobs, roast chicken, Greek salad, the pairing potential is so vast that it’s limited only to your imagination.
Wise Villa, by the way, won California State Fair’s Winery of the Year award in 2015, no doubt they have since been on the rise. Tragically, the word is out on this blend too, therefore we must act fast to stock up. The accolade below is depleting the small-to-begin-with stash faster than we can type. Join the hype in blending your seriously austere Chardonnay ways with your playful Muscat loving fun side. We did and are reaping the benefits with a wine glass in one hand and cotton candy in the other. This is a truly bipolar white in all the right ways. Twice the wine, at nearly half off, striking value.
Here is what the wine press has to say:
91 Points – Wine Enthusiast - “This blend of Muscat and Chardonnay is a feast for the senses. Jasmine, honey and lychee practically explode from the glass before the palate gives lightly sweet and super-concentrated honey, marmalade and apricot flavors. This should be a fantastic picnic wine, and great to pair with mild cheeses and dried meats for an appetizer course.”
