2013 was an early growing season for Napa Valley. Nice spring weather for bud break and blooming, then a summer of warm days, cool nights and light fog and overcast mornings. This allowed the grapes to ripen evenly and completely with intense flavors and nice balance.
The D-cubed Cellars 2013 Napa Valley Zinfandel has intense aromas of black cherries and plums, with hints of black pepper and tea leaves. Full-bodied with supple tannins in your mouth. There is wonderful balance, which leads to the long black cherry finish. This wine is as tasty as Zinfandel can be.
