Mission Codename Joy and Happiness
Summer is in full swing Operatives, and the need for Rosé is at an all-time high. Picky as we are, when a single vineyard from Russian River Valley truly delivered the goods it certainly got our attention. And Alegria is not your average vineyard. Registered with the Historic Vineyard Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of California’s legacy vineyards, it’s one of Sonoma County’s prized heritage sites, partially explaining the intensity and purity of this Rosé…
A pale salmon circumference intensifies towards a brighter coral depth with tremendous visual appeal. Fresh cut watermelon including the rind, with a sprinkle of white pepper and rose. Cranberry, Key lime, and tomato leaf culminate into a juicy cut of acidity on the refreshing palate. Pleasantly intense and clean on the finish, with reds, greens and citrus notes lingering. This Rosé needs a good chill and will be ideal for authentic Caesar salads topped with either anchovies or grilled chicken thighs.
Syrah makes a wonderful Rosé, especially when picked early and pressed whole cluster with minimal skin contact in this style, resulting in freshness with depth. Chris Mengler makes wines in the smallest possible batches and involves the help of friends and family along each step, especially to please all palates, making his wines, and particularly this pink beauty, as delicious and intimate as the genre gets. With 40% savings on top, we invite you to capture the essence of the Russian River Valley and savor the balmy evenings of summer before they are gone!
Here’s what the wine press has to say:
90 Points – Wine Enthusiast, Virginie Boone - “Sage and lavender highlight the light yet complex body of this dry rosé. Fresh acidity and fruity components of raspberry and blood orange persist from start to finish.”
