Mission Codename The Master
Last year, Robert Mondavi Winery released their 50th anniversary Maestro Red Blend. That wine was so heralded that they made a successive vintage.
Today’s 2014 Maestro combines grapes from the incredible To Kalon and Wappo Hill vineyards. Can you even find a To Kalon wine for under $150?
Today you can…
Unless we sell out. You see, we quickly sold out of the previous vintage of this wine, and today’s allocation will also likely sell out.
Rich and very fragrant, with bold black fruits, loamy earth, and spice. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, dusty bramble, dried cherry, cedar, cassis, spice box, baker’s chocolate, dried black rose petal, and black pepper. To Kalon fruit shines in this richly layered blend, with flavors of black cherry, blackberry, tobacco, sweet spice, savory herb, graphite, baker’s chocolate, cigar box, and cassis. This blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot is a true delight.
In 1966, Robert Mondavi was a man with a mission. Mondavi had the vision to create the first major post-prohibition winery in the United States. His dream of crafting the best wines in the world has been realized and today the winery is recognized as a global leader in fine wine. It hardly gets much finer than with today’s Maestro, a worthy homage to the master of wine himself.
