Mission Codename Rush of Blush
Year in, and year out, Grgich Hills knocks our socks off with their gorgeous, crisp and deep whites, but their 2018 Napa Valley Estate Rosé is off the charts! Just in time for the perfect season for a rush of blush, this stunner takes the serious side of Napa’s top Cabernets lightly and puts you on an ultimately fun rollercoaster ride with a generous dash of playful Zinfandel. Ever devour a wedge of ice cold watermelon down to the peel fresh out of a dip under the sun? Trust us, this is almost that experience, via a wine glass and the pizzazz of Napa Valley.
A can’t take my eyes off of you shade of pink with deep salmon highlights. The first whiff is fresh as a rose in bloom, with raspberry coulis, basil, and red apple skin. The ever so slightly fizzy, refreshing palate offers a big burst of chilled watermelon with crushed mint that is destined for a mojito. Long and spicy on the finish with green herbs thrown in a blender with strawberries. Ideally chilled by a large body of swimmable water on a hot day, try with a simple picnic spread, bacon wrapped dates with goat cheese or prosciutto wrapped melons.
Spring has sprung, and summer months are coming, so you’ll want to have plenty on hand - be sure to enjoy a bottle or three before this is bygone, like, oh, those summer nights!
The Napa Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area) is located in Napa County, California, United States. Napa Valley is considered one of the foremost wine regions in the world. Wine grapes thrive here, due to the combination of geography, the Mediterranean climate, and geology of the region, which are perfect for wine grape growing. The region was established as a wine-growing region with its first commercial vineyard, which was planted in 1858.
