In the glass this wine has a violet hue with a clear rim. Wild strawberry and complex spice tones are prevalent in the nose. The mouthfeel is mellow upon entry showing cranberry and currant flavors that end with a burst of acid and some forest floor notes. This very limited production wine from one of Russian River best known Growers has received great acclaim from critics and consumers alike.
The Bacigalupi family’s estate vineyard site is in the Russian River AVA. Planted on alluvial soils close to the river, this vineyard ripens fairly quickly and offers us a great window of peak conditions in which to pick these grapes. 2015 yielded another exceptional vintage for Pinot Noir from this vineyard site.
