Mission Codename Grand King Napa
A Sauvignon Blanc from Rutherford? They’re rare, but they’re always quite superb.
Today’s Grand Napa Wine 2013 Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc is an exciting, budget-priced wine from the land of the likes of Caymus, Pine Ridge, Beckstoffer, Rubicon and other big dollar wineries. This SB will leave you impressed, for less.
By now you’ve come to know the wines of Grand Napa. Today marks the winery’s 14th appearance on our pages in under a year. Their wines are always very popular and we field plenty of Operative requests for more.
Tropical fruits abound on the nose of this very aromatic wine. Aromas of pineapple, guava, pink grapefruit, lemon, white tea, dried hay, white peach, subtle cut grass and slate mineral.
Tropical flavors explode onto the palate, with pineapple, guava, mango, lemongrass, lime leaf, yellow grapefruit, green apple, Asian pear and a hint of white spice.
This wine was grown and made in the Rutherford AVA, one of the premier sub appellations within Napa Valley. The well drained volcanic soils of Rutherford are responsible for the famed “Rutherford Dust” that only wines from this AVA can possess.
Stock up, Operative. This very highly recommended wine is priced so low that it’ll move quickly…
