Mission Codename The Grandest Napa
Congratulations, Operative! You’re about to get your hands on Grand Napa Winery’s most exclusive, most coveted wines, their Grand Napa Wine 2015 Diamond Mountain District Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This young wine is drinking beautifully, now, but will only continue to improve. Happy Super Spy Sunday!
Beautiful clarity and an even gradient that transitions from garnet to maroon. The bouquet on the nose immediately hooks you with a fascinating array of aromas including custard, vanilla, butterscotch, dusty bramble, oats, and sun-ripened strawberry. The palate is delicious with barrel-influenced nuances such as vanilla and allspice, granola, cherry, red plum, and pistachio. It’s exquisitely balanced, making it all too easy to drink with incredibly soft tannin that effortlessly glides across the palate for a long finish. This big Napa Cab would be heavenly with a hearty serving of shepherds pie with plenty of gravy.
The Diamond District AVA (American Viticultural Area) sits at the northernmost tip of the Napa Valley, in the Mayacamas Mountains. The higher elevation of the region sees more direct sunlight and less cooling that the rest of the valley, leading to the production of some of the most concentrated and delicious Cabernet Sauvignon in the entire Napa Valley.
Happy Super Spy Sunday, Operative!
