Mission Codename Grand Adventure
We’re thrilled to have another spectacular wine from our dear friends at Grand Napa. They’ve given us access to every last case of their rich, juicy 2014 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon.
Grab some while you can…
Abundant and enticing on the nose, with classic Napa Cabernet aromas of black cherry, blackberry, cigar box, sweet spice, cassis, plum, leather and cracked peppercorn.
Delicious, dense flavors pour over the palate, with flavors of black cherry, blackberry, leather, tobacco leaf, spice box, grilled black cherry, baker’s chocolate, subtle graphite and cracked peppercorn.
The Rutherford AVA is among the most lauded names in the Napa Valley. It is known primarily for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon as well as the other big Bordeaux varietals. Ironically, Rutherford was the last of the major districts to receive AVA status and is home to about 30 wineries. Its well-drained soil made of a combination of marine sediment and volcanic gravel, sand, and loam is distinct and contributes to the famed ‘Rutherford Dust’ component found in its great wines.
We absolutely love this wine, which will continue to improve over the next several years.
Here’s what the wine press has to say:
90 points - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast - “Woody and softly approachable, this dusty, tannic wine offers full-bodied layers of cherry and vanilla that enwrap its richly concentrated backbone.”
Gold Medal - Los Angeles International Wine Competition
