Mission Codename 50 First Wines
Today’s insanely underpriced wine is a collaboration between Carmel Road Winery and movie star wine maven, Drew Barrymore! This little gem of a wine is big on flavor and aromatics. This is an approachable, inviting and super food-friendly wine that won’t break the bank. Limited, so please reserve yours now.
You don’t have to break the bank to find a wine that is impressive - and makes you look like a wine-pairing, culinary whiz!
This Pinot Noir is a very pretty shade of light maroon with low density. The nose is very clean and bright with fruity notes of strawberry kiwis, raspberry and cherry jam, honeysuckle, and fresh roses. On the palate, the berry notes develop with strawberry framboise and maraschino cherry at the fore, with yellow plum, cassis, and orange blossom. Incredibly approachable with light tannin, lively acidity and excellent fruit-forward flavor from start to finish. Versatile enough to handle the entire Thanksgiving spread, from the ham or turkey to the stuffing and mashed potatoes.
Drew worked very closely with Carmel Road winemaker, Kris Kato, to craft a memorable wine that pairs as well with a multitude of food choices as it does with your every important social occasion. Drew’s passion for wine and sustainable farming and winemaking practices led her to the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains where she found the fruit for today’s wine.
Drew is passionate about wine, and we’re passionate about presenting you with wines that complement those foods that you work so hard to prepare for your friends and loved ones.
