In the last 3 years, we’ve featured dozens of wines from our pals at Grand Napa Wine. Their Heir Apparent are special wines that hail from some of the Napa Valley’s most coveted vineyards. We’ve been sworn to secrecy, but we can assure you that if you knew the true origins of the wines, you’d double your order!

The last time we showcased an Heir Apparent wine from our friends at Grand Napa, we sold out midway through the day. Today’s allocation is a little larger, but these wines have proven so popular that we encourage you to reserve yours soon. Today’s Grand Napa Wine 2016 “Heir Apparent” Atlas Peak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a beauty!

Dense and gorgeous with a blood red heart and crimson hue at the bleeding edge. The nose is clean, bright, and approachable with juicy red notes of strawberry, bing cherry, and concord grape. Surprising notes of lavender and white pepper sneak in. Equally approachable on the palate with dark plum, cassis, leather, cigar box, and olive. Solid like a brick house with impeccably crafted tannin that evenly coats the entire palate for a lush, round mouthfeel. Dress it up with top sirloin or make it casual with BBQ’d tri-tip.

It is not uncommon for ultra-luxury wineries to over-produce after a generous harvest. Rather than bottle these wines under their own labels, their juice is often sold off to a handful of lucky partners. Grand Napa has some incredible relationships in the wine trade and for today’s wine, they’ve gotten their hands on some really remarkable juice. We’d love to tell you which Napa Valley winery it hails from but, well, we have been sworn to secrecy…
