Mission Codename Worth Crowing About
Note: This wine hails from the 97 point 2015 Vintage.
Wow! This powerhouse packs a punch and we enjoyed every sip of it. Croze knocked it out of a park with this extremely complex, yet easy-drinking Oakville sensation. You can pay hundreds of dollars per bottle for a Napa Cab this good, or you can pick it up today for under $35 at over 50% off. Your call!
The wine has a dark heart of garnet that fades to a nice ruby at the meniscus. This Cabernet has a fragrant bouquet with notes of rhubarb, hibiscus, raspberries, tea leaves with a subtle rose nuance. You’ll find a huge Napa Cab with black fruit, rich plum, pomegranate, cranberries and allspice. The wine greets your palate with powerful drying tannins, but you are rewarded by driving incredible fruit flavor. The finish lasts forever with the grippiest tannin lingering at the front of the palate. It’s surf and turf time. If you’ve got a local restaurant that does a great filet mignon and giant prawns, tell your server that you don’t need the wine list - you’ve brought a bottle.
Napa Valley’s Oakville AVA, centrally located and adjacent to Napa Valley’s famous Rutherford AVA, was established in July 1993. Oakville is considered one of the most diverse AVA’s in the Napa area and grows some of the best Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon in California.
