Mission Codename Throwing Marshmallows

Our deep roots in the wine trade allow us to get our hands on spectacular wines - often at the best prices you’ll find, anywhere. Today, we’re thrilled to bring you a MEGA QPR steal on a brilliant wine, the richly layered, aromatic, silky smooth Glasshaus 2013 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir. Grab some while you can. Will sell out.

This Pinot Noir has a deep garnet hue which smoothly transitions to a lovely brick red with excellent clarity. The nose is phenomenal and very true to the Sonoma Coast region with fresh, juicy fruit of strawberry and apricot with mature fruit aromas of leather with a wonderful twist of vanilla and violets. There’s tons to love on the palate as well with huge raspberry and cherry flavors backed by a delicious lavender floral component. But it has meaty richness as well with notes of tobacco and anise. Just pitch perfect with the right amount of body for a Pinot with dulcet tannin that glides effortlessly across the palate for a miles-long finish. Complex, yet easy, this wine calls for something subtle. Try a filet mignon carpaccio with a chimichurri-based aioli and green olive tapenade.

The list of wineries that make their wines from grapes grown by the Sangiacomo family is enormous, but here are a few of the most notable: The Prisoner Wine, Rombauer Vineyards, Black Stallion Winery, Domaine Chandon, Orin Swift Cellars, Francis Coppola Winery, Meiomi Wines, Flowers Winery, Simi, Bernardus Winery, Sojourn Cellars, St. Francis, Story, Ten Acre Winery, Brack Mountain, Schug Winery, Saintsbury and many many more.

The Sonoma Coast AVA, established in 1987, is the area directly adjacent to the Pacific coastline of Sonoma County. The ocean’s influence causing a cooler, higher rainfall and foggy climate most influences the vineyards of this region, many of which have exceptional views of the mighty Pacific. These factors cause grapes to mature and ripen more slowly which is ideal for Pinot Noir. The region is approximately 750 square miles with about 7,000 acres under vine.

This wine will sell out, so please reserve yours soon!

Here’s what the wine press has to say.

90 Points - Virginie Boone - “Muddled at first, this wine comes around to reveal a strong, floral component of rose water and geranium, staying light and fresh on the palate, subtle yet flavorful. It finishes earthy in Asian spice.”
