Mission Codename Grand Master
Grand. What a grand word that is! Does “I dropped a grand but it was worth it” not sound grand to you? Grand can be had in many shapes and sizes, Grand Canyon, Grand Piano, Grand Marnier, Grand Cru, and of course Grand Napa! How about a grand 93 Parker points accolade AND a grand 65% discount to boost?
Fairly dense color saturation with a beautiful ruby hue, excellent clarity, and a magenta tinge. Plum compote, cherry preserves, leather, subtle and pleasant barnyard, dress the aromatics up and a rich black soil dimension rings complexity. Ripe, bold cherry, cranberry, spice, cedar, clove, red apple skin and a potpourri of oak spices are all to be found on the wealthy palate. With big tannin on the finish, it’s enjoyable now, yet it would provide an incredible drinking experience for years to come. Ideal with portobello burgers, preferably on a brioche bun and drizzled with a red wine reduction sauce.
Here’s the anatomy of this unreal red-hot proposal. Take $100+ a bottle worth of fruit from sources that don’t want to be disclosed, blend up the best possible wine from it while squeezing the price down to $85, then let the Wine Spies have at it via a secret deal available only to a select few who would Grandly appreciate the $100 taste at UNDER $30 with jaw-dropping savings. Everybody wins, but you, our esteemed Operatives, reap the true benefits!
And here is what the wine press has to add:
93 Points – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate - “The 2016 Master Red is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-black in color, it opens with aromas of kirsch, Black Forest cake and blackcurrant cordial with tea and toast plus wafts of herbs and earth. The palate is medium to full-bodied, soft, plush and juicy with a peppery finish. Drink 2018-2035.”
