Mission Codename Sunshine Divine
Grenache Blanc is a rare, one of a kind varietal that is often used as a blending component for white blends. It is unusual to find a 100% varietal Grenache Blanc. More unusual, still, to find one that is so very delicious. We offer you today’s unique find with our hearty recommendation.
We’re so proud to welcome back Onesta Wines, today. We’ve got the very last cases of their in-demand, off the beaten path flagship white, the aromatic, delicious Onesta Wines 2014 Lodi, California Clay Station Vineyard Grenache Blanc. This varietal is mostly in Rhône wine blends and in Spain. Onesta gives this varietal a special California uniqueness.
Check it out in the owners own words:
Looking at the glass, you’ll see a crystalline wine with a pretty, pale chartreuse hue. Smelling it, you’ll catch aromas of chrysanthemum, gooseberry, slate, white peach and honeysuckle. When you get to tasting it, flavors of saffron, Bartlett pear, sourdough, sur lees character, and lime hit the palate. Finally, you’ll notice as you swish it around your mouth, the wine has a bright character which expands horizontally across the palate before sliding toward the top of the palate at the finish. If you’re more of a white wine person in general, then grab this bottle and settle in for movie night with a big bowl of gourmet Parmesan and herb popped corn!
