Tasting Notes
This wine is redder than a blushing lobster. On the nose, it shows inviting aromas of strawberry-laced crème brûlée, chaparral and exotic cherry. At first glance this titian treat coils up with flavors of black plum, kola-nut spice and nori. It then strikes intensely with fangs of unearthed truffle and berry cobbler with crumbled bacon and sea salt. The finish is velvety and alive with wild strawberry, rhubarb and a sliver of dark chocolate.
Appellation Notes
Mendocino quietly produces some of the finest Zinfandels on the planet. They tend to have vivid layers of fruit and spice and Crimson Coil is no exception, except it is even better than the rest. Created by a ninja of a winemaker and hailing from the best vineyard in this amazing AVA.
