Tasting Notes
Classic Cabernet aromas of black cherry, plum, and violets with toffee, anise and hints of soy. Mouth-filling palate with ripe cherry, vanilla, cigar box and a bit of graphite. Nicely balanced acidity in a full-bodied wine, with well-integrated tannins.
Winemaker Notes
For ages, philosophers have been lauded for contemplating the nature of existence. Nonsense. While we take our winemaking very seriously, our 2013 Philosopher shuns the ivory tower. This bottle is a celebration of life, beauty and the pursuit of imbibification.
Food Pairing
The Philosopher delivers a cerebral accompaniment to lamb, beef or pork dishes. It can also be enjoyed with cheese, particularly with hard and sharp cheeses such as Roquefort, Beaufort, Comté and Emmental.
