Mission Codename Montecchi's Dream
Hello and welcome to another Super Spy Sunday, where each week we strive to bring you a spectacular wine at an even more spectacular price.
Today’s selection is the aged to perfection Romeo Vineyards 2007 Sempre Vive “Eugenia” Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine was been impeccably stored and gently aged, resulting in a wine that is soft and elegant, but with plenty of fruit and life left in it.
Lush and fragrant, with dark, fruit and loam aromas of blackberry bramble, black cherry, cocoa dust, cedar plank, rust, dried fall leaves, slate mineral, spice box and a hint of black pepper.
Plenty of fruit here for an aged wine, with bold blackberry juice, black cherry, mocha, baker’s chocolate, cedar, dark oak, bramble, twigs, graphite, mixed spice and black pepper.
The Eugenia is named after one of the winery’s two founders, Gena Romeo. She and her husband, Frank, produced their first vintage in 1997, so today’s wine is the 10th Anniversary edition of their flagship Cabernet. They pulled out all the stops for this luscious, delicious and overall fabulous wine.
Enjoy!!
