Mission Codename Finally!
Agent Red, who has personally vetted all of the thousands of wines that we’ve sold over these last ten years, is a huge fan of Cabernet Franc. Why does he love it so? Well, Cabernet Franc, when done right, is the most food friendly, delectable and easy drinking varietal there is.
Unfortunately, really great Cab Franc is hard to come by. Unless you shop with The Wine Spies, that is.
We’ve been chasing Lang & Reed for years now, but today is the day that we’re finally featuring their much revered Cabernet Franc.
What took us so long? They’ve always been sold out!
Our begging paid off, though, as they’ve given us a small allocation of their rather stupendous 2013 North Coast Cabernet Franc. This wine is a steal, so reserve yours while you can!
This wine is super fragrant, with big aromas jumping from the glass upon pouring. Black cherry, red current, raspberry, spice box, subtle dried herb and a hint of dark chocolate.
Dark and juicy on the palate, with blackberry compote, grilled cherry, cranberry, mission fig, pencil shavings, cigar box, black licorice, subtle spice and slate mineral.
This wine us guaranteed to please.
