Mission Codename 'bauer beater
Today’s exceptional Maison Montagne 2011 Napa Valley Chardonnay is a wine that gives Rombauer (the gold standard for many of our Operatives) a solid run for its money. This wine is every bit as flavorful, elegant and delicious as a Rombauer, but without the overly buttered flavor - or high price tag.
Rich and full and dense on the nose with baked apple, candied pear, walnut, citrus zest, Meyer lemon, dried nectarine, vanilla, and softly toasted sweet oak.
On the palate, this wine is bright, soft and really quite juicy! Flavors of lemon curd, fresh lemon, pink lady apple, nectarine, dried apricot, white peach, lemon custard, and oak, with a hint of white pepper at the very end.
This Maison Montagne Chardonnay is an exceptionally delicious wine that shows finesse, complexity and depth without taking itself too seriously. Bright, fresh citrus and tree fruit that lingers on the palate, well into a long finish - with enough weight on the palate to remind you that this is a very special and well-built wine.
Complexity comes through as it evolves in the glass. Try it right out of the chiller, but take note of how it really shines as it warms even slightly in the glass. Aromas and flavors are enhanced as the wine breathes and warms, even slightly.
This steal of a deal wine is offered to you with our heartiest recommendation.
