Mission Codename Better than one
Special Note: Today’s wine is highly allocated, which means that it is usually reserved for the winery’s wine club members. We have a special relationship with Coho, who allowed us special access to their cellar. Today’s wine is available to you in any quantity that you like - but only until we sell out…
Today’s Coho Wines 2012 “C2” Napa Valley Red Wine is a layered, richly delicious and beautifully balanced red blend from one of our Operatives’ favorite Napa wineries. The Merlot from this same Coombsville vineyard was blended to the wine which received our 2016 Red Blend of the Year award.
Lively aromas burst from the glass, with fresh black cherry juice, spiced cherry candy, red currant, raspberry, red candy apple, spice box, red licorice, bramble and subtle tobacco leaf.
Beautifully balanced between juicy and earthy, with dense, concentrated flavors of black cherry, blackberry juice, black currant, plum, baker’s chocolate, spice box and a hint of smoky pepper.
2012 has proven to be one of the best vintages on record from the Napa Valley. Today’s wine was made by Brooks Painter, who, in addition to being named the Winemaker of the Year, has held winemaking posts at some of the world’s most prestigious wineries, including the Robert Mondavi Winery, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, V. Sattui, Castello di Amorosa, Leeward Winery and Felton-Empire Vineyards.
This wine is very highly recommended.
