Mission Codename The 12s have it
Today’s pureCru Wines 2012 MC Signature Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is Mitch Cosentino’s flagship Cabernet. If he’s ever made a better Cab under his pureCru label, we haven’t tasted it - which means it probably doesn’t exist.
This wine is bold, balanced and richly layered. Drink now through 2024.
Classic Napa Cabernet aromas, with black cherry, blackberry, cassis, crushed violets, dark spice, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Juicy and bold on the palate, with flavors of cassis, black cherry, blackberry compote, grilled plum, mixed spice, sweet toasty oak, vanilla, mocha and black pepper.
Every year we recognize some of the best wines, wineries and winemakers of the year. Mitch has the honor of being the only winemaker that has won two of our Winemaker of the Year awards. He deserves it. His wines are fantastic.
This wine hails from the 2012 vintage, which earned a record high rating of 96E from wine critic Robert Parker. That E, by the way, stands for extraordinary. Robert Parker recommends that you buy and hold 2012 Napa Cab.
We agree… but don’t forget to enjoy a few bottles along the way!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
93 points, James Suckling - “A tight Cab with a pretty center palate of ripe fruit and hints of dried orange peel. Medium-to-full bodied, tight and polished. Drinkable now, but this should develop nicely in the bottle. Try in 2019.”
