Mission Codename Around the World in 40 sips
Today, we’re very proud to offer you the next installment of our Locations Wine journey.
We hope that you’re enjoying touring the world with us as we continue on our wine journey with Dave Phinney, the fabled creator of the Prisoner and Orin Swift wines. Today’s stop takes us to France, with Dave’s F-4 wine, which draws from Dave’s network of vineyard sources in Rhone, Roussillon, and Bordeaux.
Dave’s Locations wines are something of a reset after Orin Swift’s prices have soared to the point of making them out of reach for many wine drinkers. Locations aims to deliver the best of the best of wines from all over the world, including Italy, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, France, Oregon - and others.
Today’s Locations “F” wine is Dave’s fourth release in his stellar Locations line. For this wine, Dave incorporates the best Regions in France, drawing upon his network of growers from Rhone, Roussillon, and Bordeaux.
This very food friendly wine is a delicious blend of Grenache, Syrah, and assorted Bordeaux varietals.
Brilliant Bing cherry hits the nose first, followed by red currant, pomegranate, rhubarb, tea leaf, dried violets, summer forest and mixed spice.
Intriguing and tasty on the palate, with an initial hit of spiced cherry, red currant and dried cranberry. These are followed by, savory herbs, dried violets, cherry bark and flinty minerals.
Very highly recommended

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
Robert Parker, Wine Advocate - “Dave Phinney is one of the more creative young minds in all of the world’s winedom. He is doing things that are far beyond his modest age and deserves to be commended for the brilliant individuality/singularity of all of his efforts.
As of now, Dave Phinney might be my “value winemaker of the year” candidate. If there are better wines for under $20 a bottle in the world today, please share that information with the Wine Advocate.”
