Hurry, Operative!
The more you spin this wine in the glass, the more expressive it becomes, with black cherry, blackberry, briar patch, mixed sweet spice, leather, black pepper and a hint of sweet tobacco leaf.
Beautifully balanced and very rich on the palate, with bold black cherry juice, blackberry compote, dusty bramble, tobacco, cigar box, sweet spice and black pepper.
The Seghesio Family is one of Sonoma County’s longest-standing winemaking families. They planted their first vineyards in 1885 - and for five generations they’ve been perfecting their art of grape growing and winemaking. Today’s wine is a great reminder of just how good Seghesio’s wine can be.
This delicious, beautifully balanced wine is offered to you with our very fullest recommendation.

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
93 points - Wilfred Wong, January 22, 2016 - “Simply amazing, the 2012 Seghesio Cortina spans the flavor spectrum of the varietal and takes it out of the “smash mouth” category. So pretty and persistent and perfect with roast leg of lamb. Medium to deep ruby color; fragrant aroma of berries, spice and white pepper, has a little bit or northern Rhône behavior going on; medium bodied, well built on the palate; dry, fine acidity, well balance; bright and lasting flavors of berries and spice; long finish.”

91 points - Wine Spectator - “Sleek and sassy, with floral raspberry and pepper aromas and elegantly layered flavors of cherry, cinnamon and fresh anise. Drink now through 2021.”
