Mission Codename Said Julite...
Happy Super Spy Sunday!
We have a very special wine for you today, in today’s elegant, drinking beautifully, aged to perfection Romeo Vineyards 2005 Sempre Vive “Eugenia” Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is Romeo Vineyards’ flagship wine, made from their most precious vines - that produce a scant quantity of incredible grapes.
The wine is shy at first, then as it wakes from its long, cool, perfectly stored slumber, it begins to unveil gorgeous aromas: Blackberry, cherry, hard leather, spice box, tobacco leaf, dried violets, chocolate, smoked chocolate cherry and black pepper.
It just goes to show you that a well made wine can last for a decade or longer when properly cared for along the way. This beautifully aged Cabernet has flavors of blackberry, smoky black cherry, leather, spice box, dried violets, dusty bramble, darkest chocolate, subtle savory herbs and a hint of tobacco leaf.
Romeo Vineyards produced their first vintage in 1997. Since that time, the already old Cabernet Sauvignon vines have matured, but so too has the winery’s winemaking skills.

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
Grade: A - James Laube, Editor in Chief, Wine Spectator Magazine - “Once again, Napa Valley vintners were dancing in their cellars over the prospects for (vintage year) 2005, with some predicting that it could be one of Napa’s finest vintages, based on the quality of the young wines. Yet, the long, drawn-out harvest provided plenty of anxious moments and surprises.” -
