Mission Codename The 12 Oaks
Today’s Doce Robles 2010 Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is another hidden gem find that we are really excited to share with you.
2010 was a great vintage for most California red wine, but Paso was singled out by some as the standout California region in 2010.
Aromas are concentrated, dense and full, with bold stewed cherry, blackberry, black cherry, cherry bark, black currant, raspberry, spice, cedar and toasty oak.
On the palate, concentrated flavors of Bing cherry, raspberry, strawberry, dried cherry, soft spice, cedar, cocoa, cherry candy and white pepper.
The small-production Doce Robles Winery is the very first winery to have appeared on the now winery-heavy Highway 46. Doce Roles’ neighbors include the likes of Peachy Canyon, Sextant and Castoro Cellars… to name just a few.
Doce Robles planted their vineyards in 1996, to Barbera, Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Primitivo, Petite Sirah and Malbec were also planted in 2010 and 2012.
We can’t wait to taste more of their wines.
Today’s highly recommended wine is a juicy, food-friendly, approachable wine that will appeal to any fan of Paso Cabernet.
