Mission Codename Like the Wind
Today’s 2012 Metz Road Viento Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir from Scheid Vineyards is a stunning wine - at a price that’ll make you feel like you stole it. This wine is beautifully balanced, bright, fruit-forward, and just a sheer joy to drink. Grab some - before we run out.
This wine caught our whole tasting panel by surprise. Everyone on the panel loves Scheid wines, of course, but we didn’t know what to expect from their 2012 Metz Road Viento Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir.
We were blown away.
This Pinot Noir shows a delicate balance between fine structure and beautiful red-fruit flavors. At the same time, it has weight and richness that lend this wine power
On the nose, this balanced Pinot is deep and lush, with gorgeous aromas of juicy Bing cherry, wild raspberry, red currant, cherry cola, sweet oak, vanilla, forest floor, dried wild mushroom, anise, toasty oak and cinnamon.
On the palate, beautifully balanced, with fruit, earth and spice flavors of Alpine strawberry, Bing cherry, raspberry, red currant, dry forest floor, wild mushroom, oak, toasty vanilla and black currant, with a hint of subtle dried herb.
This Ultra QPR (Quality to Price Ratio) delivers incredible value at just $22.99. We invite you to grab some of this great wine - while you still can. It is selling very quickly.
–Accolades–
“A smaller project from the Scheid family of wines, this single-vineyard expression offers a sanguine nose of blood, iodine, dirt, crushed violets and a touch of pungent juniper and pine. It’s light and lithe on the palate, with pomegranate, cranberry and iron, proving to be a very fresh sipper.” - 92 points - Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast
