Mission Codename The Beautiful Experience
If you are looking for a beautiful Pinot Noir experience, look no further than today’s stunning offering from Rubin Vineyards and Winery. This wine has garnered so much press, so much attention that it is a wonder that there is any left. So, how did we get our hands on today’s wine? We’re Wine Spies, that’s how!
Today’s Rubin Vineyards 2012 Green Valley Pinot Noir is a truly fantastic example of Russian River Pinot Noir. This wine is juicy, elegant, delicious and just packed with gorgeous flavors and aromas. This 93 Point wine blew our entire tasting panel away with its quality - and great value.
On the nose, this wine shows off a melange of fruit and loam and wood and spice, led by smoky black cherry, boysenberry, Bing cherry, red currant, loamy earth, chocolate covered cherry, sweetwood, spice and subtle toasty oak.
On the palate, this wine is juicy and softly spiced, with Bing cherry, raspberry, strawberry, red currant, sweet cedar, soft sweet spice, and subtle oak.
Here’s what the wine press has to say about today’s gorgeous wine:
“This cool climate Pinot Noir is like a fine young Chambolle Musigny - delicate, elegant, feminine, and slightly earthy.” - Catherine Fallis MS, aka Grape Goddess
~
”Savory, earthy and dark aromatically - dark, but not brooding. It’s lighter than brooding, with top notes of cypress forest and minty herbs and a fresh red note like clover flowers. The palate mingles high-toned red fruits with savory low notes of cedar, herbs and tea leaves. This wine is ample but not luxuriant - not too ripe, but not unripe. It’s rounded, meaty, enduring.” - Meg Houston Maker of Maker’s Table
