Mission Codename In the stars
Today marks the 5th time we have featured a new vintage of Starry’s flagship Nervo Station Zinfandel… but rumor has it that this may be the last. Why? The vineyard owner may be replanting the vineyard to something more… profitable. Stay tuned as we try to substantiate this rumor. Meanwhile, if this really is your last chance to pick up a Nervo Zin from Starry Night - or anyone else - you should pick up a case or two.
On the palate, black cherry and red currant lead the charge, followed by blackberry, black plum, smoky braised fig, smoked beef, sweet pipe tobacco, cigar box and black pepper.
Initially very juicy on the palate, then more savory and complex, with blackberry and black cherry reduction. These are followed by dusty bramble, cured meat, braised plum, grilled mission fig, cigar box, dried fall leaves and black pepper.
This is one superb Zin, from one of our favorite small producers. Very highly recommended!
