Mission Codename Ride the Ridge
At long last, Pine Ridge Vineyards graces our pages again. This time around, with their Forefront Wines 2012 Pinot Noir, an approachable, budget-minded treat that you don’t need to think twice about before opening for a lovely weekday meal or on a lazy Sunday afternoon, with some delicious appetizers.
On the nose, fresh cherry juice leaps from the glass. This happy aroma is followed closely by cherry cola, strawberry, dried cranberry, briarpatch, sweet spice and a hint of star anise. On the palate, this wine bursts with bright juicy fresh cherry and cranberry juice. These primary flavors are accompanied by fresh blueberry, raspberry and subtle sweet baking spice, cedar and a hint of dry summer forest.
This fun Pinot was made at Pine Ridge, by winemaker Michael Beaulac - who famously makes all of Pine Ridge’s sought-after wine.
Enjoy!
“Fresh and vibrant, with snappy, spicy plum and black cherry fruit that’s focused, balanced and easy to drink and enjoy. Drink now through 2015. 10,800 cases made.” Wine Spectator Magazine, James Laube
