Mission Codename Sexy Beast
Today’s Miro Cellars 2013 Orsi Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a very special wine. This single vineyard Pinot hails from the Orsi Vineyard, which produces very low yields from very low-producing Pinot vines. Under Miro’s care, the result is a wine of fantastic flavor and complexity.
This wine is complex but balanced, with elements that dance in an intriguing interplay of fruit, earth and spice. It is one of those wines that will pair perfectly with nearly anything you happen to throw at it. There is enough structure to stand up to red meat dishes and the wine would absolutely soar with baby back ribs or a herb roasted chicken.
Here is what sommelier, Anthony Cimorelli, had to say about the wine:
“I’ve been drinking wines made by Bulgarian Winemaker Miro Tcholakov for years now. Miro’s wines can be characterized as fruit-driven, complex and masterful creations. Oh, and they always deliver excellent value. Miro’s Russian River Valley 2013 Orsi Vineyard Pinot Noir is a rich, bold expression of Pinot Noir. It gushes with delicious red fruits, spice and earthy goodness. Enjoy this decadent single vineyard Pinot with everything from pork to fowl - or even fish tacos. Drink now through 2018.” - 94 points, Highly Recommended - Anthony Cimorelli, Sommelier
