Mission Codename Four Decades
Today’s Chamisal Vineyards 2011 Edna Valley Pinot Noir hails from a vineyard in California’s Central Coast that was first planted to Pinot Noir in 1972. These last four decades of experience have allowed Chamisal to achieve Pinot perfection.
Here’s what Wine Enthusiast Magazine has to say about today’s wine:
“The acidity alone should be enough to identify this as coming from Edna Valley. Few Pinots have this bright, tart crispness. It works well in highlighting the ripe cranberry, red cherry and strawberry fruit flavors. The particulars include 35% new French oak and a variety of Pinot Noir clones and selections. The grapes were destemmed, which accounts for the purity of fruit and soft tannins.” - 91 points - Steve Heimoff
This Pinot is a complex treat that is very food friendly wine but we’ll also be enjoying ours solo, savoring every single sip of this delicious wine!
