Mission Codename Eyes on the Prize
If you are like most of our Operatives, you love a great Red Blend - and simply adore a stellar one.
Today’s Rocky Hill Wines 2009 Sonoma Mountain Red is a really exciting and really delicious wine that shows wonderful balance, great aromatics and a truly balanced palate. Juicy up front, with elegance and complexity on the back side, this wine will have your mouth watering with each loving sniff and taste.
This single vineyard mélange hails from the beautiful Richard Dinner Vineyards, high up on Sonoma Mountain. The vineyards are on northeastern face of Sonoma Mountain between 600’ and 800’ elevation. Cool maritime breezes bathe the vineyards in evening fog, which contributes to slow and even ripening of the winery’s beautiful fruit.
This wine was made by Don Van Staavern of former Château St. Jean fame. Don is a master of Sonoma County winemaking and his experience really shines through in a plump, full glass of today’s juicy delight.
