Mission Codename Pastoral romance
Today’s Chloe Creek Vineyards 2013 Leras Pinot Noir is an incredible recent release. Many wineries are already releasing their 2014 Pinots. Chloe Creek held their wine back until it was ready. And wow, is it ready. This wine is silky, complex and delicious.
Fruit from the Leras Family Vineyard can be found in wines from Papapietro Perry, B.R. Cohn and george wine company. If you are lucky enough to have tasted the george Pinot Noir, you paid as much as $125 for the honor. Leras Vineyard Pinots from the other wineries cost $60. Today’s wine is yours for a fraction of the price.
We’re absolutely crazy about today’s wine and we recommend that you stock up.
92-94 Points - “Chloe Creek has established a track record for pinot noirs of top quality, and the 2013 is no exception. This lovely dark maroon-hued example oozes ripe black fruits, especially cranberry and black cherry, with a hint of raspberry. Surprisingly redolent for such a young wine. On the palate, the wine is spicy and juicy, very friendly and more forward in youth than its predecessors. Black raspberry nuances emerge and intensify with breathing. I would love to see this beauty in about five years, when greater maturity will add complexity to the layers of fruit already present. The best effort yet for owners Bill and Kim Comiskey and winemaker Dan Fitzgerald.” - Terry Robards, Wine Critic and Author
