Mission Codename First Class
We are crazy about today’s Phipps Family Cellars 2010 Treborce Vineyard Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel. After just one small sip, you will be, too. This juicy, jammy, Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel will simply knock your socks off - and leave you wanting more. Be sure to stock up on this one. You’ll want to have plenty on hand for your summer cookouts!
We first featured a Phipps Family Cellars Zin last year, when we showcased the 2009 vintage. That we a great wine - but today’s Phipps Family Cellars 2010 Treborce Vineyard Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is simply off the charts superb. If you love rich, juicy, layered, lush and elegant Zins, this one is for you. Flavors are bold and rich, aromas leap from the glass and the finish is seemingly endless.
Enjoy this wine all on its own or with a variety of food pairings. We’ll be trying ours with BBQ ribs or a burger, but also more exotic fare, like Moroccan spiced kabobs or spicy steak fajitas. Drinking beautifully now, cellar for the next few years.
90 Points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine - This is classic Dry Creek Zinfandel, in the sense that it’s dark in color, full-bodied, spicy, warm in alcohol and tannic but especially considering the flavors. They’re just as ripe as can be, with the blackberries and currants veering into lightly stewed prunes. This heady wine is a fine companion for roasted and grilled meats and stews. - Steven Heimoff (5/1/2014)
