Mission Codename Tale of two peaks
We are really excited about today’s Topos Wines 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley. This wine is, hands down, the finest 2012 Napa Cabernet we’ve ever tasted.
The 2012 vintage has the wine world abuzz with excitement. Now that the supply of 2010s is dwindling, the availability of 2012 wines has we Wine Spies scrambling. When we tasted today’s Cabernet, we were floored. This wine is so rich, so bold and so delicious that our entire tasting panel found itself fighting over follow-on pours.
Topos sourced fruit for this wine from the Spring Mountain Vineyard and Rubissow Vineyard, on Spring Mountain and Mt. Veeder respectively. Rubissow sells their luxury Cabernet for $135. Spring Mountain sells theirs for $135. Both are fantastic wines in their own right, but both seem very pricey when shown next to today’s exceptional Topos.
This wine is everything we want from Napa Cabernet. Bold flavors, deep aromas, and a plush feel abound in a wine that also manages elegance and a ton of charm. We love it now, and we can’t wait to see how it matures over the next decade or more. Make sure that you take home enough to enjoy some now - and for the next several years.
