Mission Codename Of the earth...
Today’s Yangarra Estate Vineyard 2011 McLaren Vale Shiraz is an incredibly delicious wine from one of Australia’s premier wineries.
Yangarra is an Aboriginal word meaning from the earth, and this is the guiding principle for winemaker Peter Fraser as he crafts his award winning Aussie treasures. Today’s wine is sourced from the most sought-after vineyards in the McLaren Vale. Ancient sandy soils and a Mediterranean climate provide a near perfect growing condition for Shiraz grapes, and Peter does everything he can to let that quality shine through his wines.
This ideal is clearly evident in today’s Shiraz, which is an incredibly elegant and flavorful wine that has a balance and - dare we say - restraint that’s not seen in many Australian wines. A few members of our tasting panel did a double take when they were told today’s wine hails from Australia.
If you’re looking to experience just how good Australian wines can be, don’t hesitate to grab a few cases of today’s stellar vintage. You won’t regret it!
