Mission Codename Heritage
Heritance draws exclusively on premium grapes from leading sustainable growers throughout Napa Valley, focusing on fruit grown between St. Helena in the middle of the valley and cooler districts to the south near the town of Napa. This allows the flexibility to craft distinctive, small production wines when the perfect opportunity presents itself during any given vintage. There may only be a few barrels made of these wines – and they may not be produced each year – but the selection process is rigorous and the lots are set aside only when deemed truly exceptional.
Today’s Heritance 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that was held for release until it was absolutely ready for you to enjoy. It is drinking beautifully, but we also recommend that you lay a few bottles down for the next decade - or longer!
Here’s what the critics have to say about today’s wine:
“The wine shows black cherry and light blue fruits with hints of graphite. Finishes with light barrel spice notes and toasted vanilla. “True” balance, fine tannins, and incredible length sets this wine apart from the pack. Decant, sit back and enjoy, this wine will develop for years to come. A pure “classic” in every sense.”_ - 94 pts. , J. Cotton, Sommelier & Wine Critic. Drink 2014-2025, Release Price: $50
“Dense and rich with mocha, smoke and velvety texture; juicy and black spices with blueberry and soft herbs; smooth and velvety; long and balanced. 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot.” - 90 pts, Tasting Panel, June 2013
