Mission Codename The Seventies
The Meyer Family is known to many for their founding of the legendary Silver Oak Cellars, which they sold long ago to the Duncan family. The family maintains a few vineyards in the Napa Valley that have been in the Meyer Family since the 1970’s, planted by the family to Cabernet Sauvignon as it became clear that the region was destined for greatness with the grape.
Their modern day 2011 is decidedly throwback in style. At 12.8% alc., it’s a delicious, spicy, young cool vintage Cab that could outlive the bigger wines. This could go 15-20 years. Wines made like this in the 1970’s still taste alive today. A sweet deal for $34.99.
