Mission Codename Homerun!
Cab lovers, prepare yourselves. We’ve finally found a Merlot that’s right up your alley.
Today’s Sunce Winery and Vineyard 2012 Sonoma Valley Merlot shows tremendous depth, so much so that our tasting panel spent a good 30 minutes experiencing this wine (we typically give each wine around 15 minutes). The longer we spent with it in the glass, the more layers of flavor presented themselves. Deep, dark fruit flavors are beautifully complemented by hints of mushroomy earth, espresso bean, and freshly ground black peppercorn.
This wine drinks beautifully now with some decanting, but it’s sure to age gracefully with a few years in the cellar. Why not grab enough for both?!
