Mission Codename Piedmont's Pride
Pinot Grigio fans take note! Today’s Giordano Lombardo 2011 Vigne di San Martino Gavi is right up your alley.
The Gavi di Gavi DOCG is a small sub-appellation, centered around the town of Gavi (oddly enough), in the heart of the Piedmont region of Italy. This small hamlet has been crafting fine white wine, exclusively from the Cortese grape, since 1876. And they have perfected it over these last 125+ years! Today’s wine is crisp and refreshing, with a touch of complexity coming from the fertile volcanic and limestone soil.
Please accept our heartiest recommendation for today’s Italian treat.
